Fortinet has updated its Network Security Expert (NSE) Certification program to be more flexible for our partners while targeting diverse career paths. The following is a breakdown of key changes to the program:

Learning Paths Designed For Current And Future Security Roles

Since 2015, Fortinet’s NSE certification program has led the industry in validating cybersecurity professionals’ skills. We realize that a rigid, one-size-fits-all training and certification model isn’t sustainable in today’s increasingly complex and sophisticated threat landscape. IT professionals have vastly different responsibilities across organizations and need career path-focused learning to stay ahead of the curve. Our new tailored, modular certifications allow you to choose learning paths that are most applicable to your current and future roles.

Streamlined Certification Levels

The new certification structure offers a streamlined progression for people who want to begin their cybersecurity careers. There are five proficiency levels with several certifications per level. This structure allows you to easily identify the courses and exams that align with your specific jobs and career paths. These include:

  • Fortinet Certified Fundamentals (FCF)
  • Fortinet Certified Associate (FCA)
  • Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP)
  • Fortinet Certified Solution Specialist (FCSS)
  • Fortinet Certified Expert (FCX)

Each certification zones in on specific areas of expertise like secure SD-WANPublic Cloud SecurityZero Trust Access and more. You can pursue options that are purpose-built for your specializations without having to meet rigid prerequisites.

How Can Partners Access The New Certifications?

Fortinet has simplified the certification process. All credentials require passing either one or two exams. Pricing is standardized at $400 for a one-exam certification and $200 per exam for certifications that require two exams.

Renewing certifications involves retaking exams or progressing to higher certification levels. This is designed to incentivize partners to stay up to date on Fortinet’s security innovations and how they address evolving cyber threats.
