As businesses continue moving more apps to the cloud, malicious actors are moving their sights as well - and solution providers need to keep up.

Those who do are seeking security technology that can eliminate the tradeoff between secure and simple when migrating apps to the cloud.

And that’s the idea behind Fortinet’s approach. Namely, the company’s FortiAppSecCloud offering provides compelling web app and API security platform - providing opportunities for channel partners and peace of mind for their hybrid and multi-cloud customers.

“Cyberthreats targeting web applications and APIs are becoming more sophisticated, and organizations are struggling to keep up with the growing number of point solutions and potential threats,” writes Vince Hwang, vice president of cloud security at Fortinet.

“The rise of hybrid and multi-cloud environments adds another layer of complexity, so it’s harder than ever to protect applications while ensuring they perform seamlessly. That’s where FortiAppSec Cloud comes in,” Hwang writes.

The new solution converges web application and API security and provides real-time threat protection. It guards against bots, provides threat analytics and DDoS migration in a single management interface. That means as threat protection increases, access on the solution provider and customer level remains straightforward and manageable.

The Fortinet solution ensures that battling complicated cyber threats to web applications does not add complexity for solution providers and their customers. Solution providers resell the license, and Fortinet handles the work on the back end.

FortiAppSec Cloud complements Fortinet 360-degree cloud security. “For (solution providers), it means a powerful sales tool, says Ben Zilberman, Fortinet’s product marking director for application security, in a video explaining the solution.

"And because it addresses multiple pain points with a single solution, it opens the door for upselling additional services and improving quota achievement,” Zilberman says. For solution providers who are not yet members of the Fortinet Engage Partner Program, information on partnership can be found here.
